DEFINITIONS

Manganese is one component of several enzymes and is important for normal bone structure.

Food sources are rich in manganese which is not refined grains and green leafy vegetables.


MANGAN DEFICIENCY

Hidralazin, an antihypertensive drug can cause a deficiency of manganese and other side effects, namely neuralgia, joint pain, fever, skin rash, enlarged lymph glands and an enlarged liver.

The only symptom of manganese deficiency are skin redness is temporary.

Manganese salt is used to treat manganese deficiency.

STRENGTHS MANGAN

Manganese poisoning occurs only in people who mine or extract manganese ore.

Exposure in a long time cause nerve damage, with symptoms that resemble Parkinsonism, the tremors (shaking) and difficulty in moving.
